Candle lighting ceremony

The weekend of April 29 - May 1, 2011 was a weekend to see and visit friends from the Carroll High School of Ozark, Alabama, class of 1960. After a whirlwind 50th reunion at Callaway Gardens the class met again in 2011 in Ozark, Alabama. Friday night everyone met at the home of James Lisenby to meet and greet after a day of travel. Saturday morning saw some playing golf, visiting Fort Rucker and taking a leisurely walk through the DABG, Dothan Area Botanical Gardens. Saturday night everyone met at Colby's in Ozark for a buffet meal and to reminisce about the old days. All enjoyed a DVD presentation, by Billy Walker, of the 50th class reunion last year. Class members who have already gone before were honored by lighting a candle in their memory. Sunday morning began with a Church service with Wendall Payne giving the message at the Westview Chapel. More photos will be added of the weekend fun as they come in. Please feel free to post a comment by clicking on the "comments" below or join as a "follower."
Safe travels to all who came. See you all next year!!

Thanks to everyone who attended our Sunday morning worship service. It was truly a worshipful experience. 16 (total) class members and spouses attended.Hymns led by Earl Childree & Margie McCall, sung by all, and special music sung by Earl & Margie were thoroughly enjoyed. Wendall Payne brought an inspirational message featuring 3 key points: 1"Life is Worth Living" 2"People are Worth Loving"and 3"God is Worth Trusting". Two deceased spouses of class members, Sheila Head, wife of Woodie Head; and Jack Lonquist, husband of Margaret Dowling Lonquist were honored by this group giving "In Memory" bibles (25ea) in their memory. These 50 bibles in their 6 year life span will have the potential to touch and change 115,000 lives. Thanks to all who chose this way to honor the memory of our friends. Thanks to everyone involved for a special service. See you next year! Don McCall
