I am getting married next month to Nancy L Rose.
How I met Nancy,
PS, for those coming from outside Holbrook enter through the main lobby on Hwy 92. We have free valet parking and you will have to sign at the front desk. They can direct you to the AP Courtyard.
Last year Nancy was helping me with some training on a software program we use here at Holbrook. She is an artist and uses the Mac computer and I am familiar with the Windows system so it worked well since most of the residents here use either a cell phone or tablet for their computer needs.
Nancy and I both have been member of the Catholic Church of St Ann for 25 years. However we had never met at church (there are over 5.000 registered families at St Ann and have seven Masses each weekend). We began carpooling with a couple of more people to the 4PM Mass on Saturday. Soon it was just Nancy and me. It's 12 miles to St Ann so we had plenty of time to discuss many of our ideas on religion, politics, and life in general going and coming to St Ann. We discovered we were very much alike in just about everything we discussed. I thought I had met my clone!
Earlier this year, we were discussing our rent increase for both apartments and wondering what we would do with the next rent increase if it was too much. Since Nancy has a two bedroom apartment on the ground floor, and I had a 1 bedroom on the third floor, we thought it would be economical to share one apartment.
Nancy had professed her love for me several months ago, but I was a little slow on the uptake. And we both were very active in both the St Ann community and the catholic community here at Holbrook, we thought it might cause a scandal if we just moved in together. I realized that I loved Nancy and asked her to marry me. She said Yes.
We decided to have the wedding here at Holbrook since it is our village. We petitioned the Archbishop to allow one of the priests at St Ann to preside at out wedding. We are still waiting for the approval but are hopeful since there are still about 4 weeks to May 13.
Everyone is invited but we know those out of town may not be able to come. Please pray for us and celebrate where ever you are.
